gt is not "another ship database", it is the ultimate ship database, perhaps the most detailed of the world.

It is born from the ashes of another system that scored 7,2 millions visits during its five years life.

gt includes all the ships of the world with an IMO number and it collects millions of ships details, historical data and port state controls results.
The experience is enriched by the world's best collection of ships photos kindly made available by almost 600 friendly Shipspotters as well as by a vessels position system that covers almost the world.

The statistics page shows the summary of gt data quantities but it cannot show the real value of the solution: best-in-class data quality.
gt may not always be first to display an update but it most certainly will be the most reliable data because each and every piece of new information is manually checked before the publication.

The gt staff is supported by an amazing taskforce that lives every day in the field and is able to report errors and news in real time: the Shipspotters. A big thank to them.
